INDIA QUICK GUIDE
THOUGHTS: India is a land like no other. While it can be one of the most special & enjoyable travel destinations for a backpacker, it is absolutely necessary to have the right attitude about things. 
TOP PLACES: Rishikesh, Jodhpur, Jaipur

TRAVEL ROUTE: Delhi -> Agra -> Jaipur -> Jodhpur -> Jaisalmer -> Rishikesh -> Delhi
TIPS: I reckon if you keep in mind the following simple guidelines, you will surely be able to enjoy your time in India:

1. People will stare at you. A lot. Especially if you are white, blonde/redhead/brunette, a girl, or all of the above. They are not being rude (as such staring would be commonly perceived in western culture), Indians are very curious and they mean no harm by it.
2. Not only will people will take pictures of you everwhere you go, they will ask to take pictures with you (both individuals & group shots). It is key to strike the right balance between taking pictures with the locals, and  rejecting a photo request as more and more people gain the courage to ask for a picture. 
3. You will probably get sick at some point. The food maybe isn’t always the cleanest, but it is almost always delicious (and very cheap)!
4. Some of the nicest, most genuine people you will ever meet are in India. As with any other place on the planet, there are a few people who will try to rip you off/take advantage of you. 
5. Your "Personal space" will be compromised on a daily basis.
6. Things do not always work like they should in India. Your buses or trains may be canceled without notice, at any time.
