TIPS:
- Try PERUHOP for an easy hop on, hop off bus experience and to meet other travelers
- Do a 2-3 Day Hiking tour at Colca Canyon (beware of the altitude)
- Spend time in Huacachina!! One of my favorite places in the world; a desert oasis with sandboarding and cheap hostels
- There are many good treks to Machu Picchu outside of the Inca Trail (which has to be booked months in advance). Try the Jungle Trek or the Salkantay
- Nazca lines are unimpressive from the ground and need to be seen from a flight (~$120)
- Lake Titicaca has some unnique and interesting scenery, worth spending a day or two, epsecially if overlanding to Bolivia
- Cusco is a fun town with great food and tons of backpackers
