THOUGHTS: "Is that really a country?" is the response I got from a few friends from back home after raving about Malawi. While Malawi seems to be overlooked in the typical African travel route, it is one of my favorite places in Africa. With spectacular beaches, clear blue water, generous people, great hostels, and very reasonable prices, there's not much more you could want from a travel destination.
